Labrador Retriever Dog are an intelligent breed with a good work ethic and generally good temperaments (statistics show that 92.3% of farmers breed that were tested passed the American Temperament Test). Working documents of the farmers are: game of pursuit and revelation (with a great sense of smell that helps when working in these areas), assistance, disabled, leaders, and therapy. Approximately 60-70% of all dogs in Canada are farmers, other more common breeds are Golden Retrievers and German Shepherd.
Labs are strong swimmers and are known for their ability to tolerate the water more restless cold for long periods of time. His ability to work in silence for hunters, bird watching will fall from the sky, marking where the land, and then use your nose to find and retrieve birds killed or injured in service has become the king of dogs waterfowl retrievers.
They are also used up and the redness and partners are excellent upland game hunting.
The intelligence, initiative and self-direction of Labradors in working roles is exemplified in dogs as Endal, who during the emergency of 2001, putting a human unconscious in the recovery position, took his cell phone from under the car, grabbed a blanket and covered him, barking at nearby dwellings for help, then ran into a nearby hotel to ask for help. A number of farmers were also taught to help the owner in removing money and credit cards at ATMs for prior learning.
The breed is used to save water rescue / life. He continues in that role today, together with the Leonberger, Newfoundland and Labrador and Golden Retriever dogs, but are used in the Italian School of Canine Lifeguards.
