German Shepherd Dog Temperament

German Shepherd Dog are very active dogs, and is described in the breed standard in itself. The breed is characterized by a willingness to learn and the desire to have a purpose. Pastors have a loyal nature and bond well with people who know. However, they may become hyper-protective of his family and territory, especially if not properly socialized. They can not become good friends with strangers. German Shepherds are very intelligent and obedient. Some people believe that the requirement of a "firm hand", but the latest research on training methods has been shown to respond better to positive training methods based on rewards.
