Shih Tzu Dog Description

The name Shih Tzu Dog is pronounced shee-tzoo and means lion dog in Chinese. The name must come from a vague resemblance to the dog Snowlion Asia, and this breed is also known as the chrysanthemum dog because its face looks a bit 'like a flower. The Shih Tzu was developed in Tibet and is one of the oldest and smallest of the Tibetan holy dogs. It 's really one of the oldest breeds of dogs all over the world. The Shih Tzu was created as a dog, not a working dog, and it is believed that the hail, at least in part, Tibet Lhasa Apso and Chinese Pekingnese, but nobody knows for sure. Over the centuries, a tradition developed, where the Dalai Lama of Tibet to send dogs to the Emperor of China or other dogs and receive gifts in return. This is probably how the cross came to Lhasa Apso with the Pekingese.
In ancient China, Shih Tzu was not the emperor to keep him company and bark when people or animals approached.

Like any other small breed, the Shih Tzu does not require large amounts of food and can easily adapt to a crate when traveling. A dog Shih Tzu, however, only a good option if you are willing to spend time on maintenance life of the coating.

According to the American Kennel Club (AKC) American Shih Tzu Club (ASTC), Shih Tzu dog breed should strive to develop samples weighing 9-16 pounds as adults. Under that standard Shih Tzu dog breeding, the dog should have a short snout, large eyes and a tail above the waves of his torso. All coat colors are allowed, how important is a long coat and fluid bed. In addition, the dog must be made robust.

Since the original purpose of the Shih Tzu has been to serve as a companion to the Emperor, was created to be a companion dog intelligent, friendly and cheerful, he loved spending time with the owner and others.
